Happy Birthday GeekDrop

One year ago today Geekdrop was born. This past year we have grown by leaps and bounds and it's only the beginning, we have lots more goodies in store for 2010.

I think for a lot of us we can now truly call GeekDrop our internet home. Not only is geekdrop full of friendly folks but a wealth of knowledge and for that we have our members to thank.

Caramel Corn Balls

Caramel Corn Balls

7 quarts popped popcorn

2 cups brown sugar

1 cup butter

vanilla

1/2 cup corn syrup

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. soda

Boil sugar, butter and corn syrup 4 minutes. Remove from stove and add salt, soda and vanilla. (This will foam when soda is added). Pour sauce over the popped popcorn, stir carefully. Put into a large pan into oven at 250F for 1 hour. Carefully stir every 10 minutes. If pan is big enough, shake popcorn--it doesn't crumble as much.

GodMode in Windows 7

So I found a really cool trick in windows 7, one that microsoft won't tell you about. You know how when you go to your control panel on your computer you have 49 items in front of you (I just counted on mine - 49). Well there is a way to create a folder that shows all access to your operating system control panel, its called GodMode. In GodMode you don't get just 49 but you get 267 items (that is what I ended up with).

So how do you create this "GodMode"? .........................
